About the Role :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Information Technology Security Standards Consultant / Technical Writer to join our team and support the Maryland Longitudinal Data System Center (MLDS Center) in revising its Data Security and Safeguarding Plan (DSSP). This critical project involves modernizing security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Maryland state regulations, and enhancing the MLDS Center's overall security posture.
Responsibilities :
- DSSP Development & Revision :
Lead the development and revision of the DSSP, incorporating :
Robust access control and authentication protocols.
Conduct thorough reviews of existing MLDS Center documentation, industry standards, and best practices.
Collaborate closely with MLDS IT staff, DoIT representatives, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, gather input, and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
Produce a comprehensive, well-documented, and compliant DSSP that meets all project objectives.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and revising IT security policies and procedures.
Experience working within the Maryland state government IT environment.
