We are in search of a skilled and experienced Director of Operations with a track record of scaling professional service firms to $10M in revenue.
Responsibilities: You will collaborate closely with our founder to elevate our current 15-person team into a larger, more complex operation, all while upholding our fundamental mission and principles.
Location: This role is based on site in Hackensack, New Jersey. Willing to discuss relocation assistance.

$125,000 - $150,000 yearly
Responsibilities:Strategic Responsibilities
- Partner with the founder to execute our growth strategy from $3M to $10M in annual revenue
- Scale our team infrastructure, systems, and processes to support rapid growth
- Build and lead robust recruitment, training, and retention programs
- Develop and implement performance management systems that grow a culture of self-accountability
- Create scalable operational procedures that maintain quality while increasing efficiency
- Manage and optimize firm finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit optimization
Operational Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery across all client and their matters
- Lead and develop our professional team, with experience managing teams of 30
- Implement technology solutions that support rapid growth
- Establish standardized processes for internal and external case management and client service
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as a key translator between leadership vision and team execution
What Success Looks Like
Year One:
- Implement the vision for scalable operations
- Build and develop a team of legal professionals
- Create systems supporting rapid growth (3x) and help the team achieve that goal
- Drive significant revenue and profit increases
- Master the art of translating our founder's vision into actionable plans with execution
Years 2-3:
- Scale to $5M-$8M in revenue
- Lead a high-performing team of 25
- Establish our firm as the market leader
- Position yourself for executive leadership
Your Day-to-Day Impact:
- Be the firm's strategic operations leader, ensuring excellence across all areas
- Build and maintain our culture where everyone feels valued and mission-driven
- Implement systems and processes that make sense for short- and long-term scalability (and actually get used)
- Manage finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit optimization
- Lead recruitment, training, and retention programs that attract top talent
- Drive technology adoption that supports rapid growth
- Serve as the crucial link between leadership vision and team execution
What You Bring to the Table
- 10 years of operations management experience, with proven success in professional services
- Track record of scaling organizations from $3M to $10M
- Experience managing and developing teams of 25 professionals
- Strong financial acumen and experience with profit optimization
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field preferred
- Outstanding communication skills (bonus points for being fluent in both "legal" and "human")
- The diplomatic skills of a UN negotiator combined with the efficiency of a German train schedule.
