What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) position at MFS Talent?
- Shift: Days - 3x12's, 36hrs/week
- Work location: Onsite; Palo Alto, CA
- Compensation: $75 to $89 per hour
- Constantly assessing and monitoring patients' vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc.) and responding to any critical changes.
- Ensuring the accurate and timely administration of medications, including IV drips, injections, and other treatments, while managing complex medication regimens.
- Managing and troubleshooting ventilators, dialysis machines, and other life-support systems to stabilize critically ill patients.
- Conducting thorough patient assessments, documenting patient status, care plans, and any changes in condition, while maintaining accurate records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Working closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans, communicate critical updates, and coordinate treatments.
- Responding to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrests, respiratory failure, or sudden deterioration, providing CPR, intubation, or other critical interventions.
- Communicating with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-ICU care, offering emotional support during a highly stressful time.
- Assisting with or performing procedures like wound care, inserting central lines, arterial lines, or managing catheters and drains.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)
- ICU oncology experience.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for providers issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
