What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diagnostic Imaging - Echo Tech position at MFS Talent?
- Shifts: Days - 4 x 10 hours, Variable shifts
- Location: Onsite; Pleasanton, CA
- Compensation: $65 - $80 hourly
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart) to assess heart function and structure, including valves, chambers, and blood flow.
- Use Doppler ultrasound to measure blood flow through the heart and vessels.
- Capture high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis of heart conditions like heart disease, valve disorders, or congenital defects.
- Position patients properly to obtain optimal images, adjusting equipment as needed for different body types or specific diagnostic requirements.
- Operate specialized echocardiography equipment, adjusting settings to capture accurate images.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound machines to ensure they are functioning properly, reporting any malfunctions for repair.
- Monitor patients during exams, especially in stress or emergency situations, and provide immediate assistance if needed.
- Prepare preliminary reports summarizing findings, such as heart wall thickness, valve function, or abnormalities in blood flow.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's Degree or Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Experience
- Three (3) years related experience
Licenses
- Echo Credentials
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for providers issued by the American Heart Association
