What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services - School Social Worker position at MFS Talent?
Shift : Day 5x7.5-Hour (08 : 00 - 14 : 00) -Work location : Onsite; North Chicago, IL-Compensation : $50 to $55 per hourDuties and Responsibilities -Provide individual and group counseling to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.-Assist students in developing coping strategies and conflict-resolution skills.-Advocate for students' well-being and academic success.-Respond to crises such as bullying, family emergencies, or mental health concerns.-Develop safety plans and connect students to resources for immediate support.-Collaborate with families to support students' academic, emotional, and social development.-Conduct home visits when necessary to assess family situations and offer support-Partner with teachers, counselors, and administrators to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.-Provide training for staff on topics such as trauma-informed practices, mental health awareness, and cultural competency.Education Qualifications-A degree in social work (BSW), psychology, sociology, or a related field may be required for entry-level roles. However, a master's degree is often preferred or required. Experience-1 year, will accept new grads with clinical social work experienceLicenses and Certifications-IL SW License and PEL Benefits-Health / Dental / Vision Insurance -Sick time off
