Job Overview
The Apartment Make-Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartments for new residents by ensuring each unit is clean, safe, and in optimal condition. This role involves performing tasks such as cleaning, painting, patching up minor wall damages, replacing fixtures, and ensuring that all appliances and systems are functioning properly. The Make-Ready Technician will work efficiently to meet deadlines, ensuring that all units are move-in ready according to the company’s standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while ensuring that each apartment is ready for new tenants to enjoy.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure readiness for operation.
- Utilize tools such as an ohmmeter to diagnose electrical issues.
- Fabricate components as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Work with logic controllers to troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions.
- Perform welding tasks to repair or modify equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Supervise junior technicians or apprentices, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any customer service concerns.
Experience
- Proven experience in a technical role with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Familiarity with customer service principles, ensuring positive interactions with clients.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is preferred.
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment relevant to the trade, including welding equipment.
This position requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Candidates should be prepared to engage in hands-on work that requires both technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
