Overview
The Apartment Certified Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the apartment community. This includes handling repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests from tenants. The technician will troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and appliances, ensuring that apartments and common areas are well-maintained and in good working order. Duties
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Conduct residential painting and general upkeep of property aesthetics.
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently.
- Utilize logic controllers to monitor and control various systems within the facility.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist in diagnosing issues effectively.
- Supervise maintenance staff as needed, providing leadership and guidance on best practices.
- Use an ohmmeter and other tools to test electrical circuits and components for functionality.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance roles with a focus on electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Strong understanding of residential painting techniques and materials.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.
- Proficiency with logic controllers and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising teams preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative in problem-solving tasks.
