Data Analyst

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, but other duties may be assigned):

• Data Management & Analysis
• Data Entry & Organization: Accurately input, organize, and maintain data across multiple platforms to ensure consistency and reliability.
• Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions. Present findings through clear, easy-to-understand reports and visualizations.
• Excel & Data Visualization: Utilize advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, macros) to analyze, manipulate, and present data efficiently. Maintain and develop spreadsheets that support daily operations and decision-making.
• Data Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data across systems and reports. Identify discrepancies and troubleshoot data-related issues proactively.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with internal teams (marketing, sales, finance, supply chain) to understand their data needs and provide insights that support growth and operational efficiency.
• Translate technical data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) accounts, ensuring seamless coordination with clients and stakeholders.
• Process Optimization & Improvement
• Continuously assess and improve data collection, reporting, and analysis processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to optimize inventory management and business operations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance reporting automation using Excel, BI tools, or other data technologies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Will be required to obtain certificates or licenses within 90 days of employment that are required to operate in existing markets. Additionally, will need to be able to obtain certificates and licenses in new markets as needed.
• A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel as needed for business purposes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be at least 21 years of age (required for compliance in the cannabis industry).
• 2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in a role supporting a cannabis company or a fast-paced consumer goods industry.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, macros, and data visualization techniques.
• Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with SQL and database management is a plus.

COMPETENCIES (SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis to ensure high-quality insights and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends, discrepancies, and business opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for various stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and sales, to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Typing speed of at least 60 WPM to ensure efficiency in data entry and analysis tasks.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This role requires availability from Sunday through Thursday to accommodate business needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical Demands:
• Primarily a desk-based role, requiring prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer.
• Occasional standing, walking, and moving around the office and production areas as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry light objects (up to 20 pounds) occasionally.
• Frequent use of office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.
• Work Environment:
• This position is based in an office environment located near a cannabis production space.
• Exposure to typical office noise levels, with occasional exposure to the odors and noise associated with a cannabis production facility.
• Must be comfortable working in proximity to cannabis-related products and processes.
• Compliance with company policies regarding security and safety within a regulated industry is required.
