Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials within the local area, ensuring timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service. Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items using appropriate equipment, such as pallet jacks, ensuring all items are secured properly for transport.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining flexibility to accommodate last-minute changes or additional deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during deliveries and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients.
- Experience with moving and handling various types of cargo safely.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and other loading equipment effectively.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with route driving and local traffic patterns is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail in following delivery instructions and maintaining records.
