MGA Architecture is a creative, award-winning design firm located in Honolulu. We are a diverse architectural firm providing a range of architectural services across a full spectrum of project types to clients throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Rim.
We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced team-players for the following position:
- Architect/Designer
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the architectural design process for various projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements.
- Develop detailed architectural plans using software such as Revit, Sketchup, etc.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design and construction efforts.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform project planning and design decisions.
- Oversee project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within financial constraints.
- Mentor junior architects and interns, providing guidance on design principles and best practices.
- Prepare presentations for clients that effectively communicate design concepts and project progress.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
Qualities of a successful candidate would include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design or related field.
- Registration as a licensed Architect.
- Proficiency in architectural software including Sketchup, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite, with a working knowledge of Revit.
- Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
- Experience in budgeting for architectural projects is preferred.
- Excellent sketching skills with the ability to draft detailed plans.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly to clients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Capable of multi-tasking on medium to large complex projects.
- A portfolio showcasing previous work that demonstrates creativity, technical skill, and project diversity.
- Candidates should be U.S. citizens, residents of Oahu, or familiar with the construction industry in Hawaii and seriously interested in relocating.
- Principal/Ownership aspirations.
