MGC is seeking an experienced Wireless Construction Manager to oversee the successful execution of wireless infrastructure projects. In this role, you will collaborate with the Director of Operations and client Project Managers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Leadership
- Lead and direct field Construction Management Inspectors and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Provide guidance and support to inspection teams, ensuring all work meets required standards and safety guidelines.
- Conduct periodic safety meetings with personnel and subcontractors to reinforce best practices and compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure all construction activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Technical & Compliance Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction plans, RUS (Rural Utilities Service) Standards, and specifications for buried and aerial plant construction.
- Ensure adherence to archeological treatment plans, environmental assessments, and best management practices in affected areas.
- Conduct field inspections of materials, handling procedures, and equipment, rejecting defective materials and ensuring proper installation.
- Inspect wireless tower foundations for compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate with joint-use utilities for both overhead and underground installations.
- Monitor and inspect site work for compliance, ensuring splicing, environmental adherence, underground work, aerial installations, and facility transitions are executed as required.
- Supervise fiber testing and duct proofing to validate the quality and reliability of installed infrastructure.
Reporting & Documentation
- Capture construction progress data and compile daily and weekly reports.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation, including staking sheets and cable sequential values.
- Verify that site clean-up is completed satisfactorily following project work.
- Communicate construction requirements and report variances or deviations to senior management.
- Obtain and distribute required permits to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3 years of experience in wireless or telecom construction management.
- Strong understanding of buried and aerial fiber construction, wireless installations, and facility transitions.
- Knowledge of RUS Standards, permitting processes, environmental compliance, and safety regulations.
- Experience managing field inspectors, subcontractors, and construction crews.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, staking sheets, and utility maps.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate between teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and make field decisions.
- Familiarity with fiber testing, duct proofing, and wireless network infrastructure.
- Proficiency with reporting tools and software used in construction project management.
Education & Certifications:
- Construction Management, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- OSHA 30 Certification (preferred).
- PMP or similar project management certification (a plus).
Work Environment:
- Frequent travel to job sites within Washington State, with occasional overnight stays based on project needs.
- Combination of office work and field supervision in various weather conditions.
Salary : $30 - $49
