Purpose
MGIC’s Digital Experience team is seeking a versatile and collaborative UX/UI Designer. The Digital Experience team has ambitious goals to build out a consistent, user-centric approach across MGIC's websites and applications. The role is ideal for someone who has experience in the many facets of UX including wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and collecting user feedback. A successful candidate will be able to partner equally well with Marketing and IT teams and be readily able to jump between different projects and ways of thinking with these groups.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Create consistent, user-friendly, and thoughtful solutions across MGIC’s websites and applications
- Collaborate with IT, Marketing, and other teams to ensure created experiences achieve business goals while meeting user expectations
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design concepts
- Interface with IT resources to ensure UX deliverables are technically feasible
- Maintain and promote consistency of MGIC’s brand guidelines while using and expanding MGIC’s design system across digital platforms
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and identify opportunities for improving the user experience for projects
- Analyze and interpret user feedback and behavior combined with performance metrics to enhance solutions
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure MGIC's digital experiences are modern and competitive
- Ability to pitch in with other digital experience projects and tasks as needed
- Bachelor's degree in UX, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, or related field.
- 3 years experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role with a portfolio showcasing relevant work and impacts on users and the business
- Proficiency in wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
- Experience working within a design system and contributing to its expansion
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and other front-end technologies (no coding required but an understanding of how these work)
- Solid problem-solving skills and curiosity to identify root problems
- Ability to influence new and different ways to work and approach solutions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
- Scrum experience a plus
- The activities of a UX generalist with the ability to apply skills across diverse projects
- Helping others understand and see the value in UX processes and deliverables
- Getting to work with both creative and technical groups
