Responsibilities:
- Compile and complete project electrical material submittals on all jobs in a timely fashion while ensuring submittals conform to job specifications and are cost effective
- Prepare indexed submittals in a neat and professional manner
- Apply for all required permits including electric, gas, mechanical, and building in a timely manner
- Apply for electric service and meter, confirm requests, control numbers, make improvements, and follow up
- Communicate status and information of projects to project managers and enter all information into the project log
- Review all inventory needs with project managers and foreman
- Generate AutoCAD electrical layouts
- Complete all electrical as-built records and enter in project folder
- Coordinate between job foreman and underwriter for timely job inspections and enter all inspection dates and certificates into project log
- Enter purchase orders for job materials and ensure all items arrive on time
- Negotiate pricing with vendors to minimize job and material costs as well as waste
- Develop and maintain customer and underwriter relationships
- Continues follow up with suppliers and engineers
- Inventory management and develop spreadsheets for inventory control
- Receive and verify vendor deliveries in shop
- Ensure electrical apprentices are enrolled in electrical training and register master electricians for state licensing exams as needed
- Attend jobsite meetings as necessary
Required Skill Set:
- BS in engineering, construction management, electrical engineering, or similar field
- 1-3 years experience in electrical construction or similar
- Excellent ability to draft detailed electrical drawings
- Proficient in excel and word
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, cost estimating, and project management
- Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
- Understanding of accounting
- Can understand complex blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications
- Deep understanding of data analysis and estimation metrics
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
