THE JOB:
Din Tai Fung a world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant, celebrated for its exquisite hand-crafted dishes and unparalleled dining experience. With approximately 150 locations globally, we bring a unique blend of artistry and culinary excellence to our guests. As the Assistant General Manager at Din Tai Fung, you will partner with the General Manager to lead the operations of the restaurant. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operations of the dining experience, overseeing staff, guest satisfaction, and the overall success of the venue. This role is perfect for an experienced hospitality leader who is passionate about guest service, restaurant management, and who thrives in a fast-paced dining environment.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Oversee daily restaurant operations, including budgets, labor, scheduling, inventory, and guest service to drive short-term profitability
Assist the General Manager in developing and executing strategies to achieve restaurant goals
Help manage Human Resource duties such as fostering teamwork, providing performance feedback, recognizing employees, and ensuring a positive work environment. Support hiring, training, and succession planning while maintaining compliance with company policies and legal requirements, including collective bargaining agreements
Regularly interact with guests to ensure they have an exceptional dining experience
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Two years of experience in Food & Beverage industry
Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced setting is desired
At least two years of experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant environment
Background in Asian cuisine is preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and other outside contacts
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
