THE JOB:
As a Captain Server at Carbone, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an extraordinary dining experience to our guests. You will oversee the dining room operations, ensuring seamless service and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. Your attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and passion for hospitality will contribute to the overall success of our restaurant.
THE STARTING RATE: $15.0733 plus tips
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Provide warm, personalized, and attentive service to all guests.
Anticipate guest needs and exceed expectations to ensure a memorable dining experience
Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally
Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service
Train, mentor, and coach back servers to uphold Carbone's service standards
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and efficient service
Manage the flow of the dining room, seating guests efficiently, and maximizing table turnover
Collaborate with the host/hostess team to optimize seating arrangements and accommodate special requests
Ensure the presentation and quality of food and beverages meet Carbone's standards
Conduct regular checks to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper setup in the dining room
Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain a flawless dining experience
Promote menu items, specials, and beverage offerings to enhance the guest experience and increase sales
Encourage upselling techniques among servers to maximize revenue opportunities
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
2 years prior relevant experience in fine dining venue or gourmet service
Proven experience as a server or captain server in a high-end restaurant environment
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent educational experience
Ability to work to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
Extensive knowledge of Italian cuisine, wines, and spirits is highly desirable
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
