THE JOB:

Bring your craftsmanship to life at Park MGM! As a Carpenter, you'll take pride in performing both predictive maintenance and reactive repairs, from restoring broken or damaged furniture to creating custom cabinetry, tables, office spaces, and more. Your work will be essential to maintaining the charm and integrity of our iconic property. Every task will be completed with precision and care, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures. THE STARTING RATE: $34.30 an hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform maintenance and repair tasks ranging from routine to complex on furniture, cabinetry, hotel rooms, public areas, and offices.

• Work Orders & Documentation: Complete work orders assigned by Dispatch or Management, ensuring accurate documentation in logbooks and internal systems, and timely communication via email when needed.

• Tools & Equipment: Operate power and hand tools effectively to complete assignments promptly and with precision.

• Fabrication & Installation: Fabricate, assemble, and install permanent structures, such as office partitions, doors, cornices, and counters, while safely setting up and using woodworking machines.

• Blueprints & Measurements: Follow blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to determine dimensions and specifications, laying out jobs and calculating angles and measurements as needed.

• Property Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the property layout, including hotel rooms and equipment locations.

• Industry Updates: Stay updated on the latest techniques and methods in carpentry, and report any unusual conditions or issues on the property to the Shift Supervisor.

• Communication & Coordination: Use internal systems and email communication to update management on job progress, request materials, and coordinate with other departments as necessary.

• Cleanliness & Safety: Prioritize cleanliness, safety, and accident prevention, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Age: 21 years old or older.

• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar environment, such as facilities maintenance, carpentry, or related trades.

• Availability:Must be able to work a varied full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays.

• Carpentry Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in using a variety of carpentry tools, including power tools, hand tools, and woodworking machines, with a focus on precision, safety, and efficiency.

• Finishing Carpentry Skills: Proven ability in finishing carpentry tasks, including precise drywall installation and removal, ensuring smooth and seamless surfaces ready for painting or other finishes.
