The Job
The Vice President of Finance plays a critical role in supporting the Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance and the Chief Financial Officer in executing key financial initiatives, policies, and processes at MGM Resorts International. This position is responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring operational efficiency, and aligning financial practices with corporate objectives. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with MGM Resorts’ policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
The Day-to-day
- Oversee the review of the corporate strategic plan and financial forecasts, collaborating with senior management to conduct financial analyses that drive informed decision-making.
- Manage corporate financial modeling, including scenario analysis, forecast revisions, and updates to financial statements to support corporate objectives.
- Support senior leadership in evaluating and executing capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and business development opportunities.
- Work closely with the financial planning and analysis team to develop operating budgets, forecasts, and financial models that align with company goals.
- Partner with investor relations to support quarterly earnings processes, investor guidance, and the development of Q&A materials.
- Lead the preparation of board materials, including cash flow analysis, transaction reviews, and strategic initiative evaluations.
- Monitor compliance with debt and lease obligations, ensuring timely completion of all monthly and quarterly deliverables.
- Work with legal, tax, and accounting teams on transaction agreement negotiations, credit agreements, and financial statement forecasting.
- Provide research and insights to support capital markets decisions and operational strategies.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, overseeing hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning in alignment with company values.
- Interface with investors, banks, and ratings agencies as needed to support corporate financial initiatives.
- Create internal and external presentation materials to communicate financial strategies and performance updates.
- The ideal candidate for the Vice President of Finance role is a seasoned financial leader with a strong background in corporate finance, accounting, and strategic financial planning.
- They possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance or Accounting, with a minimum of six years in a senior or upper management finance role.
- Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of prior experience in investment banking and/or strategic consulting, demonstrating expertise in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and financial modeling. Strong finance and accounting skills are essential, with a proven track record of managing financial strategy, forecasting, and budget oversight.
- Experience in a resort or hospitality setting is highly preferred, along with familiarity with gaming development environments, including regulatory compliance, financial structuring, and investment analysis.
