The Accountant is responsible for various accounting functions on behalf of Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and will contribute to the overall financial health of the organization through meticulous attention to detail and effective financial management. Manage and reconcile accounts receivable ledger, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of customer payments, credits, and outstanding balances. Initiate and conduct collections calls and emails to follow up on overdue payments and maintain positive relationships with customers to expediate the resolution of outstanding accounts receivable. Collaborate with internal teams to investigate and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies and completes supplier portal setup. Assists with State MGMA processes and reconciliations Maintains publication inventories and unit cost calculations. Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and upholds a best practice of clearing all reconciling items in a timely manner. Completes daily revenue recognition batch processing in CRM. Prepares monthly membership renewal billing. Completes lockbox cash posting and prepares refund report. Acts as backup to accounts payable functions. Serves as backup to payroll functions. Prepares audit and tax schedules, as necessary. Demonstrates the ability to maintain a positive attitude and interpersonal relationship building across multiple departments and with our membership and executive partners. Knowledge of principles and procedures of accounting practice and basic financial analysis. Intermediate MS Excel skills. A Bachelors degree required, Accounting or closely related field is preferred. Two (2) or more years of accounting experience is required.
