Description :
Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage and optimize our receivables process while supporting essential accounting functions. This role is ideal for a finance professional who excels in accounts receivable management, reconciliation, and customer account resolution while also gaining hands-on experience in broader Accounting functions.
Requirements :
- Maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring accurate recording of customer payments, credits, and outstanding balances.
- Initiate and conduct collections outreach (calls / emails) to follow up on overdue payments while fostering positive customer relationships.
- Investigate and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies, complete supplier portal setups, and collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes.
- Process daily revenue recognition batches in CRM, reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Prepare monthly membership renewal billing, process lockbox cash postings, and generate refund reports.
- Assist with journal entries, publication inventory tracking, and unit cost calculations.
- Serve as a backup for accounts payable and payroll functions while supporting audit and tax schedule preparation.
- Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

Knowledge, skills and abilities :
Education :
Associate's degree preferred (in Accounting or closely related field is preferred).
Experience :
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Must have reliable transportation.
