Job Details:
- Schedule: 6-7 days/week, 10-12 hours/day
- Shifts: 1st and 2nd shifts
- Duration: 2-3 months
- Start Date: ASAP
- Note: Local candidates only (no per diem)
Job Description:
We are looking for skilled Shipfitters to join our team in Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidates will have experience in shipfitting, including layout, cutting, and beveling of metal parts. Burners should be proficient in using a torch. This is a physically demanding position requiring precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform layout, cutting, and beveling tasks for ship components.
- Assemble and fit metal parts for ship construction or repair.
- Work with various materials and follow blueprints and specifications.
- Utilize cutting tools and torches for metal fabrication.
- Ensure all work is completed to high-quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- TWIC badge eligible.
- First-Class or Second-Class Shipfitter experience.
- Proficiency in layout, cutting, and beveling (Shipfitters).
- Proficiency with a torch (Burners).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
