Position Summary
The manager directs the operations at the Dry Fines plant, associated with MGQ’s limestone quarry, and overall plant performance with regard to quality, costs, safety, delivery, and morale. In addition, the manager will be actively involved with MGQ’s environmental health and safety culture, participating on the company’s Safety Committee and adhering to OSHA, MSHA, and EPA requirements.
Primary Accountabilities (Essential duties but not limited to)
· Develops team atmosphere that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
· Creates environment which promotes open communication with employees
· Creates and maintains a permanent safe and healthy work setting for employees
· Establishes documented Standard Operating Procedures for plant personnel
· Provides and advises employees or training requirements, as needed
· Monitors daily production and plant inventories
· Ensures company policies and all safety rules are being followed, including conducting safety/environmental audits to develop plans which address deficiencies
· Ensures OSHA, MSHA, and EPA regulations are communicated and enforced
· Works with MGQ VP of Human Resources to develop, implement, and manage safety and environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
· Investigates accidents and incidents to determine root cause and develop plans to prevent recurrence
· Other tasks that may be assigned by the President and/or Senior VP of Operations.
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individual may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary accountability satisfactorily. Education / Experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below)
Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Operations Management preferred. Certifications, specialized training, or previous related job experience is a plus.
Years of Experience: 5 years preferred in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge in environmental, health, and safety is a plus.
Physical Requirements (Approximate time spent to be included in physical demands such as walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (lbs) and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing.
Most of the time spent sitting and walking, in addition to using hands and fingers to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arm and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May be situations which require up to 30 pounds of lifting. Must be able to bend periodically. Must be able to see and hear.
