Job Title : Site Superintendent / SSHO (Full-Time)

Location : Murfreesboro, Tennessee (with travel across the United States)

Salary Range : $45 - $60 per hour

Duration : Full-time

Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Superintendent / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to manage field operations, personnel, and safety compliance for military fuel system projects. This role requires extensive hands-on experience in military liquid fuel systems (LFM) or Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants (POL) and the ability to lead and train field personnel. The Site Superintendent / SSHO will be responsible for overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring safety and compliance, and coordinating closely with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Project & Site Management :

Oversee and manage all field activities to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
Work in close coordination with the Project Manager, Facility Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
Ensure all work aligns with the Government and / or Prime Contractor's Statement of Work (SOW) and project specifications.
Provide technical assistance , conduct site orientations, and perform quality control checks.
Execute Stop-Work authority when necessary to maintain safety and compliance.
Manage and coordinate change orders and direct orders with contractors and contracting officers.
Conduct site health and safety audits , identifying concerns and recommending solutions.
Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and training for personnel operating heavy equipment .
Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation for project progress, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
Supervise site cleanliness, material procurement, and vendor coordination to maintain an efficient workflow.
Ensure personnel morale, health, and well-being throughout the project duration.

Personnel & Field Operations :

Directly manage and supervise field employees, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain a productive work environment.

Conduct field meetings , coordinate surveyors, and manage lay-down areas.

Verify all necessary permits, site markings, and facility access approvals .

Ensure compliance with sanitary and facility requirements, including safety, first aid, and emergency protocols .

Monitor and manage project expenses to align with budget estimates.

Perform hands-on fieldwork when required to support operational success.

Logistics & Travel Coordination :

Arrange and confirm lodging, airline reservations, rental vehicles, and transportation logistics .

Maintain readiness for nationwide travel (75% - 100%) , often via commercial and military aircraft .

Ensure compliance with rental agreements and access requirements for military installations .

Qualifications & Requirements :

Experience :

Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Military Liquid Fuel Systems (LFM) or Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants (POL) operations.

At least 2 years of prior experience as a Site Superintendent in military fuel systems projects.

Experience in DoD fuel systems management and operations .

Education & Certifications :

U.S. Military accreditation in Liquid Fuel Systems (LFM) or POL with at least 8 years of relevant experience.

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refresher certification (current).

First Aid and CPR certification (current).

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project Management software .

Clean driving record for military installation and rental vehicle access .

Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug / alcohol testing .

Ability to legally operate motor vehicles across the continental U.S. and abroad .

Work Environment & Travel Requirements :

Frequent travel (75% - 100%) to military project sites across the U.S.

Ability to work in outdoor environments and construction sites , ensuring compliance with military and safety regulations.

Flexibility to work remotely when not required on-site.
