Location: Crane, IN or Luling, TX (with travel between both locations)

A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee engineering operations in a dynamic production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical processing and manufacturing, with a focus on operational efficiency, safety protocols, and continuous process improvements. This role requires technical expertise, strategic leadership, and the ability to drive complex engineering projects, including the design and launch of a pilot plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Process Optimization:

Oversee manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, cost efficiency, and operational safety.

Implement best practices in raw material utilization, process efficiency, and equipment maintenance to improve key performance metrics.

Lead engineering teams to optimize workflows and enhance overall production capabilities.
Technical Leadership and Continuous Improvement:

Apply expertise in chemical operations to drive process enhancements and maintain compliance with industry regulations.

Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, resource allocation, and technological advancements.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
Collaboration and Communication:

Coordinate with external engineering firms to support process development, detailed design, and commissioning activities for new manufacturing projects.

Ensure clear and effective communication with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.

Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align engineering objectives with business goals.
Industry-Specific Expertise:

Provide expertise in chemical reaction processes, including reactor operations relevant to industries such as fertilizers, pesticides, explosives, pharmaceuticals, dyes, and pigments.

Leverage experience with industrial manufacturing equipment in settings like pulp and paper mills, nonwoven and textile production, and packaging facilities.

Prior experience with nitrocellulose production and related chemical manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
Qualifications:

10-15 years of relevant experience in engineering and manufacturing leadership (exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered).
