Journeyman Glazier

MGSI is seeking 4 Journeyman Glaziers to complete daily aluminum fabrication, glass and framing installations, material handling, door hardware service and installation, and shower door installations.

Journeyman Responsibilities:

• Complete daily work order tickets in a timely manner with supervision
• Cut flat glass / plexiglass / architectural panels to specific measurements
• Replace insulated glass units in vinyl, metal, and wood sashes with supervision
• Fabricate new aluminum doors, aluminum storefronts, and aluminum curtain walls
• Install new aluminum doors, aluminum storefronts, and aluminum curtain walls
• Install and service commercial door hardware
• Install new shower doors
• Reglaze wood and steel sashes with putty
• Unload and load delivery trucks on a daily basis
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for flaws
• Organize glass and material
• Keep shop clean daily

Journeyman Glazier Skills and Qualifications:

• HS Diploma / GED
• Completion of DOL recognized and approved apprenticeship program
• Possesses valid drivers license and has a clean MVR
• Works with supervision to organize, prepare and complete fabrication and repair orders in a timely manner
• Possesses basic math skills using fractions and decimals with imperial and metric systems
• Possesses the ability to read tape measure accurately
• Validates production against industry and company quality
• Communicates clearly with customers, vendors, and co-workers
• Adheres to federal, state, and local safety regulations
• Has the ability to frequently lift 80 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and complete repetitive tasks with few breaks
• Licensed to safely operate 5,000 lb. forklift (will train and license if not current)
• Is able to pass a graded background check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.78 - $36.71 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 48 per week
