Job Purpose:
The Sr. Data Integration Software Engineer is the subject matter expert on data integration from external partners into transactional systems and through to the data warehousing and analytical platforms. They work as a team member within the focused software engineering organization. They are responsible for implementing the creation and support of application components and outcomes. The right candidate must be a detail-oriented independent contributor working who can coordinate components. The individual must be able to communicate in written form and manage workload dependencies. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Data Integration and Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Talend solutions, including jobs, workflows, and data mappings in Talend Studio, Talend Cloud, and Talend Data Preparation, adhering to enterprise standards and best practices. Optimize and monitor ETL processes, ensuring high-quality data and seamless integration across environments.
Talend Administration and Cloud Expertise
- Manage Talend tool installations, upgrades, and versioning, ensuring optimal performance. Leverage Talend Cloud to create scalable, cloud-based integration solutions that meet evolving business needs.
Business Requirements & Systems Translation
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements and translate them into efficient system and data flows, data mappings, and integration solutions to address complex business challenges.
Data Quality and Optimization
- Apply expertise in data quality, source system analysis, business rules validation, performance tuning, and high-volume data load optimization to ensure efficient, accurate, and scalable data integration solutions. Participate in analysis sessions to understand functional and non-functional requirements. Leverage strong problem-solving skills to translate functional requirements into efficient, optimized data integration solutions.
Mentorship and Agile Delivery
- Provide mentorship to junior developers on Talend best practices and ETL processes. Work within Agile Scrum environments, managing tasks, optimizing workflows, and delivering incremental updates efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related concentration
- Experience with healthcare data formats and HIPAA concerns
- 6 years’ experience or equivalent with Data Integration / ETL platforms and solutions
- Must have experience with Talend and good to have Java knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output
- Experience with Jira for Software Development
- Experience with version control software
- Experience with MS Azure
