Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in various settings including outpatient facilities, group homes, day habs and nursing homes. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine health status and care needs.
- Plan, manage, and provide nursing care in accordance with standards of practice, federal and state regulations, and agency policies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including venipuncture for blood draws and IV insertions when necessary.
- Assess, plan, and implement medical care for individuals in group home/day program settings.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring compliance with OPWDD and other relevant regulations.
- Train and oversee direct care staff in monitoring medical systems and patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and provide medically related in-services to program staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Experience/Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of New York (Required).
- 2 years of experience with OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities) programs (Required).
- BLS Certification (Preferred).
- Previous experience in an outpatient or medical office setting (Preferred).
- Proficiency in suturing techniques (Beneficial but not mandatory).
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred).
