Program Director
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of one or more programs, grants, and/or projects within MHP Salud. This role ensures that all program activities align with the organization’s mission, vision, strategic plan, and key planning documents. The Program Director provides leadership, support, and guidance to staff to deliver impactful programs and services to the community, fostering innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and management of assigned programs and initiatives to maximize outcomes.
- Oversee all aspects of program operations, including personnel, facilities, contracts, and other resources, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing strategies for programs.
Strategic Leadership:
- Contribute to the development and execution of organizational goals and strategic plan activities, involving staff in key initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between program objectives and the organization’s broader strategic priorities.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and support program staff to achieve programmatic goals and enhance professional growth.
- Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and training in both individual and group settings to advance staff performance.
Budget Oversight:
- Manage program budgets to ensure compliance with funder guidelines and organizational requirements.
- Monitor financial performance, create efficient budget plans, and guide staff in implementing effective fiscal strategies.
Evaluation and Performance Monitoring:
- Partner with the Evaluation division to collect, analyze, and utilize program data effectively.
- Track program performance metrics and outcomes, ensuring goals are met within established timelines.
Problem-Solving and Innovation:
- Proactively address challenges, encourage innovative solutions, and foster a problem-solving mindset within the team.
- Utilize technology effectively to enhance program delivery and train staff on its optimal use.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with funders, partners, and other key external stakeholders to strengthen program integration and resource utilization.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality reports, documents, and presentations for various audiences, including funders and organizational leadership.
Grant Support:
- Contribute to grant proposals by providing critical data and subject-matter expertise.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 4 years of experience in supervision and non-profit or social services, preferably in community health or related work.
- Ability to pass a background check, including local, state, and federal screenings, employment references, DMV records, and criminal history.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated cultural competency and understanding of the populations served.
- Proven success as a program director, manager, or similar leadership role.
- Expertise in managing complex programs and leading teams through long-term initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of program management methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with staff supervision, budget management, and grant compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and appropriate insurance (employee must be listed on the policy).
- Availability for up to 10% local or out-of-state travel.
