Job Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing at least one program or a group of staff working on a program. This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure program and organizational goals are achieved. The Program Manager ensures high-quality program implementation through strategic planning, staff coaching, and effective communication. This role also involves analyzing program data, contributing to funder reports, and fostering a culture of growth and innovation. All work is aligned with MHP Salud’s Strategic Plan, mission, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Coordination:
- Develop and oversee program work plans, performance targets, and timelines to ensure successful outcomes.
- Coordinate program activities to meet quality standards, comply with funder requirements, and adhere to organizational protocols.
- Actively contribute to strategic planning initiatives and align program goals with MHP Salud’s overarching objectives.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Supervise and mentor program staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented work environment.
- Provide individual and team coaching, constructive feedback, and training to enhance staff performance and professional development.
- Assist with staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
Program Evaluation and Reporting:
- Monitor program performance through data analysis and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate on the development of narrative reports for funders, highlighting program successes and insights.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Monitor and manage program budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Provide input to the Program Director on budget planning and adjustments.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between program staff, other departments, and external stakeholders to promote seamless collaboration.
- Represent the organization at community and public meetings, or designate appropriate representatives as needed.
- Ensure clear and effective communication between Community Health Workers, organizational leadership, and key partners.
Problem Solving and Innovation:
- Proactively address challenges and foster an innovative approach to problem-solving within the program team.
Technology and Marketing:
- Support staff in the effective use of technology to optimize program efficiency.
- Partner with the marketing team to develop strategies that promote program visibility and impact.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related discipline).
- At least 4 years of experience in supervision and nonprofit/social services, preferably in community or health work. Experience working as a Community Health Workers is a plus.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven experience in supervising and mentoring staff, including performance evaluation and professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building trust and collaboration.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience preparing funder reports.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and external partners.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background screening, including: Local, state, and federal criminal and law checks. Employment reference checks. DMV check.
- Willingness to travel locally or out of state up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency: ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
- Experience in funder report writing.
- Grants management experience.
