What are the responsibilities and job description for the Web Project Manager position at MHP/Team SI?
The web project manager is the quarterback for web development, web maintenance, and web hosting projects for mhp.si clients. The web project manager works closely with creative, technical, marketing technology, and account services teams to ensure the proper framing and execution of web team projects. The web project manager will be managing multiple projects simultaneously and must be comfortable with shifting priorities between competing projects and allocating resources to the highest priority tasks and projects. The web project manager is ultimately responsible for the successful execution of web development projects for the agency and will be the primary resource for ensuring project profitability and timely completion of client work.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Works with account and team leads to develop the scope of work based on functional and business requirements.
- Develops, implements and manages the project plan.
- Develops the staff plan and creates the budget for web projects. Uses agile, kanban, waterfall, scrum, or critical path methodologies to plan projects
- Responsible for resource allocation in conjunction with the resource manager.
- Day to day management of the project from initiation through implementation and deployment.
- Communicates status of project to the team and client on a regular basis, including project status reports, milestones, project timelines, and holding the line on project scope with clients.
- Tracks and reports project burn rates and manages costs for external vendors and software or platform licenses.
- Contributes to the creative process by assessing feasibility of the proposed solutions.
- Contributes to the creative process by recommending new technologies.
- Resolves schedule conflicts.
- Monitors and communicates project risk, dependencies and mitigation accordingly.
- Ensures changing resource and project requirements are communicated to all members of the project team, and that the changes are understood by all members of the team. Provides guidance and keeps an eye on overall workloads and allocations, ensuring the work is spread around optimally. Works with all project resources to resolve issues with staffing and deliverables.
- Ensures proper change management documentation is executed as scope increases or decreases or project priorities shift.
- Oversees the project team's activities to guarantee overall quality of work and ensures the project is delivered on time and on budget.
