Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director to join our leadership team at Mi Casa Child Center. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering an environment where children can thrive through play-based learning and exploration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Director in developing and implementing curriculum and programs that align with our play-based, child-led philosophy
- Manage daily operations including staffing, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with state licensing requirements
- Mentor and support teaching staff through observation, coaching, and professional development opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families through regular communication and family engagement initiatives
- Oversee enrollment processes and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in budget management and resource allocation
- Ensure health and safety protocols are consistently followed
- Support the creation of developmentally appropriate learning environments
- Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements and quality rating systems
- Strong understanding of child development and early childhood best practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with play-based and emergent curriculum approaches
- Experience with financial management and budgeting
- Background in family engagement and community building
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Capability to move quickly in response to children's needs
- Stamina to maintain active engagement throughout the day
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour
