What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer, Supplier Quality position at Mi-Jack Products, Inc.?
- Essential Functions:
- Manage and develop key performance metrics that define supplier quality.
- Issue Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) to address quality shortcomings, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Determine root cause of supplier issues and implement effective interim and permanent corrective actions.
- Lead supplier sourcing, audits, and evaluations to measure suppliers' ability to meet Lanco’s sourcing standards.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve technical specifications with suppliers during the product design and development process.
- Complete an annual, data-driven supplier quality improvement project of the engineer’s choosing.
- Support all Industrial Equipment Manufacturing (IEM) locations and effectively balance and prioritize the associated workload.
- Contribute to the larger IEM Quality Team, fostering collaboration and consistency in quality practices across locations.
- Communicate effectively across departments and with suppliers to raise awareness of quality concerns and coordinate necessary resources.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and company policies to promote safe, environmentally conscious work practices and reduce liability risks.

Qualifications and Guidelines
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong relationship-building skills to foster productive partnerships with the supply base.
- Technical literacy to read and interpret CAD models, technical specifications, and engineering drawings across various commodities (e.g., castings, machining, weldments, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, paint, and cross-functional assemblies).
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, as well as posted work rules and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to accept constructive feedback and work independently.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with management, suppliers, and colleagues.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field
- 3-5 years of applicable work experience
- Understanding of the concept, implementation, and the associated practices of ISO9001 (auditing experience preferred)
- Six-sigma training/certification preferred
Physical and Environmental Elements:
- This is primarily an office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. May work offsite in various environments; travel will be required.
Travel Required:

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
