Position Overview:
In this role as a Power Systems Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage the team responsible for the design and development of Engine Installation Systems, Hydraulic Systems, and Driveline Systems across our material handling product line. Focusing on enhancing machine performance, reliability, and standardization across product lines, through effective collaboration with our technology partners and across the company. Upholding the company’s culture, mission, and values by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate across engineering product platforms and technical teams to develop solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external industry engine, hydraulic, and driveline partners to enhance development capabilities.
- Interface with engine, hydraulic, and driveline component suppliers to understand the design, fabrication, and use of their components.
- Coach, mentor, and provide direction to the power systems design team. Promote and maintain a high level of teamwork and collaboration. Responsible for team member performance evaluations and goal setting.
- Partner with both our vehicle systems experts and engine suppliers to craft a comprehensive power system development and validation strategy.
- Provide input on the development of engineering processes and procedures. Additionally, provide budget input on product development tasks.
- Estimate resources required to complete projects. Assure staffing requirements are met.
- Oversee the detailing and releasing of engineering drawings for components and systems in your area of responsibility.
- Maintain CAD for components, systems, and schematics.
- Lead new product introduction design efforts, ensuring timing and product quality are in alignment with engineering specifications.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries
- Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (both internal and external)
- Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability
- Special projects or work as assigned

What we are looking for:
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the engineering team and external partners.
- Detailed oriented and able to manage multiple development projects under tight deadlines with a focus on safety and quality.
- Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with a diverse group of individuals and cultures.
- Ability to collaborate and lead international teams in various time zones.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of design and development practices, with a focus on designing power systems for heavy machinery.
- Skilled in applying technical knowledge to support and enhance engineering practices.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of work experience working in an engineering capacity supporting product development with a particular focus on engine, hydraulic, and driveline systems in the material handling, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or other heavy equipment industry.
- 5 years of supervisory experience is required with a proven track record of leading successful teams.
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Lanco employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Lanco does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status).
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Top candidates will have 15 years of experience in aforementioned engineering discipline.
- 10 years of supervisory experience and a proven track record of leading multiple projects and teams.
Work Environment:
- This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances
- Minimal travel required- up to 10% domestic and international travel requirements.

Physical Demands:
- The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports, records, and other materials that typically weigh less than 30 pounds
Compensation/Benefits:

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
