Employment Type: Part time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: St. Paul’s Assisted Living is seeking an experienced and dedicated Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing nutritious and appealing meals, has strong attention to detail, and demonstrates a commitment to serving our residents with care and professionalism. As a key member of our team, you will help create a dining experience that feels like home for our residents. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals following established menus, dietary guidelines, and residents' preferences. Ensure food is cooked and served at safe temperatures and in compliance with Serve Safe standards. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and team to plan menus that meet nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions. Monitor inventory levels, assist with food ordering, and manage waste to minimize costs. Train and guide kitchen staff as needed to maintain high-quality standards. Engage with residents and staff to foster a welcoming and respectful atmosphere in the dining area. Address special dietary needs or allergies with attention to detail and care. Qualifications Serve Safe Certification (required). Proven experience as a cook in a residential or healthcare setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, nutrition, and food safety standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with residents and staff. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
