Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for scientific research and laboratory procedures, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Set up and tear down of cadaveric program requirements:
- Receive Equipment/Specimen
- Set up OR tables and all necessary equipment for Lab (C-Arms, Microscopes, Towers)
- Set up Cadavers in appropriate positions (Lateral, Supine, Prone)
- Process and clean Lab and instruments after program, including shipping instruments back
Comply with all corporate and OSHA policy procedures in the laboratory
Comply with and analyze test information to determine operating efficiency of processes and equipment to diagnose problems and malfunctions
Responsible for PPE inventory and helps lab management with inventory control.
Dissect tissue as needed per lab management instructions
Responsible for equipment inventory (General Instrumentation, Stryker power, ext)
Recommend measures to improve procedures, use of equipment, and needs for new equipment. Conducts research to develop custom procedures as needed, working in conjunction with Lab Management
Represents MARC by appearance and conduct. Behaves ethically at all times and ensures compliance in all areas
Responsible for A/V support for all programs
Works with lab management on serology report entry and tracking of tissue inventory and disposition procedures
Educates new Lab technicians on responsibilities and instrumentation
Additional Requirements
- English speaker
- Able to stand 75% of Day
- Proactive assistance in positioning of Specimens
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Lifting of greater than 50 Lbs. must request assistance.
- Daily lab tasks may vary upon lab requirements.
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred, particularly within a cadaveric or medical education environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to daily lab task variations based on program needs.
- Familiarity with operating room equipment and sterile techniques, knowledge of laboratory safety standards (OSHA compliance) and adherence to PPE protocols is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating shift
