Miami Children's Museum is looking for a new Community Relations Manager to join their team!
Miami Children’s Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational institution, which meets the needs of all children in our multicultural community. The Museum offers interactive exhibits, programs and learning materials related to arts, culture and our community. Miami Children’s Museum encourages visitors of all ages to play, learn, imagine and create together.
The Community Relations Manager is responsible for identifying, fostering, and representing the Miami Children’s Museum among nonprofit, education, corporate, and government sectors. This role creates increased business opportunities for the Museum, identifying individual return on investment (ROI) per each partner including traveling exhibit sales, fee-based mobile outreach, sponsorship of signature events, and in-kind program donations to elevate onsite public programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops a community relations strategy with senior management, setting short- and long-term goals.
- Builds and maintains relationships across nonprofit, education, corporate, and government sectors.
- Updates senior management on strategic partnerships.
- Collaborates with the Director of Brand Content, Marketing & PR to create materials like talking points, reports, and legislative summaries.
- Works with internal teams to promote Museum programs and events.
- Represents the Museum at community and networking events to drive revenue opportunities.
- Participates in relevant events to enhance awareness of the Museum.
- Pursues professional development opportunities.
- Supports public programs by coordinating partnerships, setting revenue goals, and providing staff training.
- Manages Museum traveling exhibit rentals, including sales, customer service, and brand activations.
- Develops promotional materials for traveling exhibits and fee-based outreach.
- Maintains a database of strategic partnerships and revenue-generating leads.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, along with four years of direct experience working with people.
- Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered if directly related to the essential duties.
- Candidates with experience in community organizing, local government, and sales will be given preference.
