What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health Intern position at Miami County?
QUALIFICATIONS: The preferred applicant should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in public health, environmental health, animal science or a related field. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
A valid Ohio driver’s license with own vehicle and ability to maintain a driving record that meets the insurability requirements of Miami County Public Health’s insurance provider.
DUTIES: Responsible for mosquito surveillance and reporting program. This includes setting and collecting mosquito traps throughout Miami County. The candidate must be comfortable working outdoors, track locations and other details associated with the mosquito traps. Complete any associated paperwork, reach out to the community to provide mosquito control education, report observations and conversations to a sanitarian after investigating a mosquito public health nuisance complaint, some data entry of information collected in the field and may assist with report writing, other duties as assigned.
