Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. One year of bookkeeping experience; OR completion of six semester credits in Accounting is required. Completion of college coursework may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.
Recruitment Notes
This Account Clerk position is responsible for reviewing and approving in INFORMS the Special Services (SSC) Single Payment vouchers submitted by all County Departments and the Constitutional Offices (COCO), processing cancellations and stop-payment requests to cancel and/or reissue outstanding checks, auditing printed checks before they are mailed out to the payees and providing customer service as needed to payees, taxpayers, and to the County and COCO staff. The incumbent will also file, prepare boxes of original documents received and processed by the Unit, and assist with their submission to Clerk of the Corts for proper storage and retention. This position serves as the backup of other staff's responsibilities and duties within the SSC Unit. Special Accounts Payable projects to include data entry, scanning, filing and other clerical duties may be assigned.
This position may lend itself to Telecommuting Policy, which includes flexible work schedules and working remotely in those areas where such a policy is viable and meets the goals and objectives of the operations.
