Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR Bachelor's degree to include 9 semester credits in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR one year of satisfactory performance as an Accountant 1 in the County service is required; OR five years of Accounting experience may substitute for the required four year of college education.

The Accountant 2 position is located in the Finance Division of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department. This position is responsible for tasks related to the Financial Reporting and Accounts Receivable sections. Duties assigned to this position include performing complex financial analyses and generating extensive reports and other functions pertaining to accounting/financial principles. Other duties assigned to the position include but not limited to general ledger reconciliation, reclassification, journal entry approvals, invoice approvals, capital responsibilities (Capital Processor Role), and accounts receivable-related duties. Also, the employee in this position will assist with processing and troubleshooting various financial transactions in the general ledger and accounts receivable modules in the INFORMS system utilized by the County. Accounts Receivable duties include overseeing daily transactions and identifying, analyzing, and correcting discrepancies and errors.
