Minimum Qualifications
Possess two years of field experience in the HVHZ. Completing an eight-hour HVHZ training course approved by BORA may substitute for the required HVHZ experience. Plus, meet one of the following requirements: (1) Five years of experience in the roofing industry, including two years in a supervisory capacity AND either: a. Current Roofing Certificate of Competency or Certificate of Eligibility issued by the MDC CTQB; or b. Current Roofing Contractor license issued by the Florida CILB; OR (2) Five years of experience in the roofing industry and certification as a Building Inspector in MDC and possess a Florida Standard Roofing Inspector License or a personal certificate from the MDC CTQB as a Roofing Inspector or Roofing Contractor; OR (3) Five years of experience in the roofing industry and certification as a Building Inspector in MDC and possess a current certificate as a GC issued by the Florida CILB provided the number of the license shall be less than #7837; OR (4) Five years of experience in the roofing industry and holding a current license from Florida as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer. Must possess a Driver s License

Certificate and/or license must be in good standing with Miami-Dade County's Contractor Licensing and Enforcement Section, and/or the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and/or Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board with no pending complaints. Applicants qualifying for employment will be subject to extensive background screening. Applicants holding an active certificate will be required to inactivate their certificate at their own expense upon employment.

This is advanced professional evaluation work for the Building Code Enforcement Section of the Code Compliance Division of the Miami-Dade Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources. This position involves assessing structures for work without permit complaints and initiating code enforcement cases against the property in which the violation is located. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the timely assessment of violations of the Florida Building Code and issuance if warranted of Notice of Violations and citations in accordance with due process. Responsibilities also include field inspections of properties in question; analyzing and interpreting plans on record for subject properties; reviewing permit history; coordinating joint inspections, if necessary, with other enforcement sections of the Division; providing testimony in appeal hearings; and interacting with the public. This position is eligible for a 15% pay supplement while assigned under the Code Compliance Division
