Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Partnership Development is a vital leader responsible for driving partnership revenue, implementing best practices, and fostering team development. This role requires an individual with a proven track record in selling marquee sponsorships across various categories and benefits platforms. The ideal candidate will bring energy and passion to the position while demonstrating extensive partnership development experience at the Director level or above. A successful candidate will have consistently exceeded sales targets and quotas while exhibiting strong leadership skills to mentor a team of partnership sellers.
Essential Functions:
- Research, identify, and cultivate relationships with prospects/organizations across diverse industries for team partnership opportunities; implement strategies to engage prospective partners within the Marlins portfolio.
- Develop sponsorship programs and conduct regular sales meetings and presentations.
- Negotiate and prepare pitch materials and contract terms with input from senior leadership, finance, legal, marketing, and other relevant internal departments to ensure a unified approach.
- Lead a team of junior sellers and contributors in partnership development by setting the tone, applying best practices, and sharing insights from personal experience.
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive execution of partnership programs and campaigns.
- Provide consistent reporting on various sales metrics including pipeline account status, revenue targets, and sponsor interactions to enhance role equity.
- Aim to achieve assigned sponsorship sales revenue goals while maximizing fully integrated sponsorship sales across major categories.
- Contribute towards achieving corporate objectives as well as departmental management goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Able to meet challenging sales objectives in a high-profile competitive marketplace while managing tight deadlines across multiple projects.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- A minimum of 10 years of sales experience in corporate partnership sales is required, preferably within a team or league property context.
- Candidates must currently hold a position at the Director level or above.
