Overview:
We are actively recruiting a team of experienced, mission-focused Project Director professional to serve on a nationwide contract. This position plays a central role in overseeing logistics, coordination, and quality assurance of a monitoring effort.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact effort that supports early childhood education oversight and ensures compliance and quality standards across Head Start programs nationwide. Ideal candidates will bring a deep understanding of Head Start policies and operations, with direct experience managing or supporting monitoring, compliance, or technical assistance programs at the federal, regional, or state level.
As the Project Director, you will be the strategic lead for this complex, multi-year engagement, overseeing all aspects of performance and serving as the primary liaison to federal stakeholders. We are seeking a senior executive with a proven track record managing nationwide programs and experience working directly with the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) or Office of Head Start (OHS).
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience managing large-scale federal contracts.
- Master’s degree in an applicable area
- Previous leadership on Head Start monitoring or technical assistance projects—preferably within ACF/OHS or in collaboration with state Head Start Collaboration Offices.
- Demonstrated success managing geographically dispersed teams and subcontractors.
- Deep familiarity with Head Start Performance Standards, monitoring protocols, and program governance.
- PMP certification and a background in early childhood systems, public administration, or a related field are strongly preferred.
