The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission & Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.
We are currently seeking a FT Assistant Centers Director at The Caring Place Center for Men in Miami, FL,
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Centers Director (ACD) reports to the Centers Director (CD). The ACD will be responsible for assisting the CD in overseeing the day-to-day operations of all locations and programs. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing budgets, and ensuring that all programs comply with relevant regulations and laws. This role oversees and coordinates various projects, programs, and initiatives uniting staff at all centers. The ACD will also be responsible for developing relationships with external stakeholders such as donors and community partners. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the day to day operations of all departments at the assigned Centers
- Handles the discipline of employees in accordance with company policy
- Leads, trains and evaluates staff
CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Centers Director in developing and implementing policies and procedures for all locations
- Work with the Centers Director to optimize resource allocation, including staff, funding, and facilities, to maximize the impact of our services
- Assist the Centers Director in managing budgets for all locations
- Assist the Centers Director in overseeing all data collection, tracking systems, and accurate monthly reporting and invoices
- Ensure that all programs are in compliance with relevant regulations and laws
- Develop relationships with external stakeholders such as donors and community partners
- Help develop staff training programs to ensure that staff are equipped to deliver programs effectively
- Help ensure that all locations are meeting their goals and objectives
- Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels to ensure information flow and collaboration among team members as assigned
- Provide guidance and support to staff as required to complete projects/tasks
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and policies that affect our operations
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. Implement best practices and share knowledge across teams
- Collaborate with the development team to engage with donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Contribute to the development of a succession plan, identifying and nurturing future leaders within the organization
- Assist the Centers Director in leading and supporting centers during crisis situations, providing guidance and resources to address challenges effectively
- Conduct fire safety drills and coordinate evacuation of the Center(s) and report any issues or concerns to the Centers Director
- Review staff and client grievances and provide status updates to the Centers Director in a timely manner
- Tracks all CAT/staff meetings for case review and consultation on difficult or unusual cases and is responsible for proper documentation and actions of staff
- Attends in-service training, workshops, and inter-agency conferences to coordinate services for programs.
- Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events
- Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management (8 - 10 years of experience in lieu of degree) and at least 5 to 7 years of experience working with the homeless or a similar field; Master’s degree and CAP certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of proven supervisory experience in non-profit management demonstrating cross-departmental competence
- Must have knowledge of the homeless and their needs i.e. addiction etiology, recovery
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including volunteers, staff, and community partners
- Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to interact with staff, vendors, and supporters in a professional and courteous manner
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment within the general framework of approved case management techniques, existing laws and established agency policy
- Requires the ability to lead and facilitate support groups using biblical scriptures and principles, and incorporate scriptures into the rehabilitation process
- Must also have knowledge of local community agencies/resources available for clients
- Must be extremely organized and able to prioritize tasks
- Must be able to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships with clients and staff of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation and sexual orientation
- Must be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to walk, meet and visit people in and out of the office
- Must be able to sit for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public
- Must also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties
