The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission & Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.
We are currently seeking a FT Behavioral Health Manager for The Caring Place Centers in Miami and Hollywood, FL
JOB SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health Manager (BHM) reports to the Centers Director , and provides the necessary strategic planning, organization, direction and leadership of the Behavioral Health Services Department and Case Management (Awareness Program). Duties include clinical and programmatic development, BHS policy and procedures, coordinating all aspects of the client’s case management, supportive services, mental health counseling needs and supervision of Behavioral Health Services Counselors and Student Interns.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversees the daily workflow of the Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Department and Case Management Department (Awareness Program)
- Recruits, trains, evaluates and supervises BHS therapists, student interns and Case Management (Awareness Program) case managers and chaplains
- Monitors and reviews notes / records of interns to ensure quality and professionalism
- Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy
CORE DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Ensures that all clients are treated with respect and dignity and maintains client confidentialityPlans and develops policies and procedures for the BHS and Case Management (Awareness Program) DepartmentMaintains a friendly, professional Christ-like attitude with all clients and Interns while enforcing BOC policies and proceduresIntegrates a Christian worldview of counseling while respecting the differing worldviews of clients in a pluralistic societyMonitors and reviews case notes to ensure quality and professionalismServes as liaison between interns and their referring educational institutionSupervises the assessment of clients and develops a customized treatment plan with input from other departmentsCompiles statistics on clients for submission to Centers DirectorCompiles and maintains confidential, current case notes for each client according to industry standardsReviews client’s progress with BHS therapist, student interns and case managers on a weekly basisEnsures that clients receive individual and group counselingNetworks with other agencies as needed and attends in-service training, workshops, and inter-agency conferences to coordinate services for programsAttends assigned community meetingsParticipates in CAT / staff meetings for case review and consultation on difficult or unusual cases and is responsible for proper documentation and actions of staffWill lead and / or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach eventsMust be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of FaithPerforms other related duties as assignedEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related fieldMust have solid supervisory skills to supervise Behavioral Health Services staff and Interns; Qualified Supervisor preferredCertified Addictions Professional (CAP) certification preferredMust articulate a Christian worldview of counseling while respecting the differing worldviews of clients in a pluralistic societyMust have a valid Florida driver’s licenseRequires proficiency in the skills needed to assist clients with bio-psychosocial issuesRequires excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust have a demonstrated ability to facilitate group or individual therapy, including adult clients in the family dormitoryMust have computer skills necessary for providing required reports, outcomes, and client managementWill be the liaison between student interns’ educational institution to ensure quality services between all organizationsMust be able to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships with clients and staff of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation and sexual orientationMust be computer literate have experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
