What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary School Teacher - K-5 position at Miami Shores Presbyterian Church School?
This is for the 2024/2025 school year
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds a Florida Teaching Certificate or holds a Teaching Certificate from another state and applying in Florida.
- Have understanding and experience with elementary age students.
- Display strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Be enthusiastic and energetic and a positive attitude.
- Able to individualize instruction for students.
- Great behavior management.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Headmaster, the Teacher will plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students in our small class. Using the curriculum and the Florida State Standards. The teacher will also plan small groups that focus on student individual needs during our WIN group time (What I Need).
Essential Job Skills:
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties, and others not listed, in a timely manner:
- Supervise students in a variety of school settings
- Excellent classroom management
- Teach content and skills utilizing the Florida Performance Standards
- Modify instructional plans and materials to meet individual student needs based on the analysis of data
- Evaluate and assess student progress against instructional and non-instructional purposes
- Maintain accurate, efficient, and effective records for instructional and non-instructional purposes
- Participates in staff meetings
- Demonstrate knowledge of educational research, trends and best practices
- Be a reflective practitioner
- Be a reliable encouraging communicator with students, parents and staff
- Be a positive role model
- Be a team player
- Faith must be an important part of your life
- It would be an added extra if the candidate has knowledge of MAP testing and how to dissect it.
