Agriculture Education Instructor - Tri County North

 
General Description:  The Agricultural Education Instructor at Tri-County North will provide instructional activities which are consistent with the objectives of the Agriculture Science curriculum and the MVCTC in general.  The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including skill development, human relations, and the leadership qualities which are necessary to obtain gainful employment in agriculture.  The FFA is an important integral part of the curriculum and the instructor will be expected to guide the FFA program.  The Agricultural Education Instructor will report to a Satellite Supervisor.
 
Qualifications:

1. Must meet all the requirements governing teacher education and licensure
2. Must hold or qualify for licensure in Agribusiness or Agriculture Science and Production Agriculture
3. Must possess interest in young people
4. Possess good knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of the Agricultural Education program
5. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
6. Ability to move about in classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents
8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
9. Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for students
10. Ability to make home and work site visits to monitor the student or confer with the employer as required

 
Length of Contract:                185 days plus applicable extended service days
