CLASSIFICATION: Full-time. Full-Year. Non-Exempt
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Responsible for day-to-day purchasing functions. Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, ODJFS and MVCDC regulations, policies and procedures.
MINIMUM Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field of equivalent experience
CREDENTIALS: Three years’ experience purchasing. Must be proficient in the use of office machines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry forth the Mission, Vison, and Core Values of MVCDC, Inc.: support the quality management principles: and work toward the agency and program goals.
- Process purchasing requests for materials, supplies, and services in conformance with the established MVCDC procurement policies and procedures.
- Responsible to seek out, obtain and maintain lists of Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Female Business Enterprises (FBE) contractor/service providers and to solicit quotations/bids for the provision of materials, supplies and service.
- Prepare and maintain PO database and inventory system.
- Schedule repair and maintenance of office equipment.
- Responsible for the receipt of purchase in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Correspond with vendors with regards to price, availability, warranty, delivery of goods and services.
- Coordinate with staff to provide efficiency, productivity, and accuracy of assigned tasks.
- Represent MVCDC professionally in manner and dress to staff, parents, volunteers, and community.
- Adhere to agency confidentiality policy.
- Participate in MVCDC staff/site meetings and training. Attend training and meetings and seek out staff development opportunities.
- Take corrective action to expedite late, incomplete, or defective deliveries.
- Responsible for maintaining Purchasing Department Purchasing Cards
- Ensure cleanliness, security and appropriate use of property, equipment, materials, and documentation.
