Position Details: As the Special Education Coordinator you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating special education services for children enrolled in the Head Start program. This position serves as the primary liaison between Head Start and Local Education Agencies (LEAs), ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations regarding referrals, evaluations, and service implementation. The coordinator will monitor services, collaborate with families, and support staff in implementing inclusive education practices that promote the success of children with disabilities. This includes but is not limited to planning, developing, supporting and implementing special education/disability training, strategies and practices. You will provide classroom/child support and analysis of child and family special education progress.
Minimum Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education or related field; 5 years of experience in special education, early intervention or related services: experience working with Head Start or early childhood programs preferred including knowledge of IDEA, Head Start Performance Standards and state special education.

SALARY: Base salary compensation will be commensurate with meeting both Education and Experience.
