CUSTOMER SERVICE SPEC. - HIGH SCHOOL POSITION
PRN STATUS / MUST BE ABLE TO WORK BETWEEN 8AM TO 7PM, WEEKENDS INCLUDED
8 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD
The Customer Service Specialist (Greeter) is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive first impression to the customers of Miami Valley Hospital South (MVHS) by acting in the role of meeting, greeting, directing, and assisting patients, visitors, medical staff, and employees who come to the facility
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: No requirement
Attendance in Vocational or High School
At least 8th grade
Age > 16
Required to work within the scope of State and Federal minor labor and wage and hour limitations.
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
Preferred experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
Knowledge/Skills
Strong interpersonal skills required, with the ability to deal with difficult situations while remaining calm and professional.
Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrate problem solving skills and compliant resolution skills.
Strong oral skills required, with the ability to interact with employees from all levels of the organization.

The Customer Service Specialist will be assigned to work both indoors and outdoors at any MVHS public entrance.
CSS employees will assist all customers with general information, be available to answer questions, provide accurate directions and information about parking and access to any location on the campus, and handle minor complaints and situations.
The CSS department will be responsible for managing the flow of traffic at MVHS entrances, and for maintaining appropriate access to the entrances of the facility.
The CSS will work in collaboration with the Information Desk and Security staff to assist and escort patients and visitors throughout the campus.
The CSS will be cross trained to assist with the Information Desk, as required. This will include managing incoming calls, routing calls as appropriate, and providing basic facility information, as requested.
The CSS will be responsible for keeping an adequate supply of wheelchairs at each entrance, and for providing wheelchair assistance to patients and visitors, as needed.
CSS and Information Desk employees will share the responsibility of monitoring the lobby, waiting areas, restrooms, and vending areas, to maintain a neat and clean environment.
CSS staff will be held accountable to all Premier Health behavior standards, EPIC security regulations (as appropriate), and HIPAA standards ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy rights.
The CSS will help to maintain a smoke-free environment throughout the campus and will direct patients and visitors to approved smoking areas.
The CSS will perform security, safety, and fire patrols in the area of assignment.
The CSS will be required to frequently monitor the entrance, lobby, and driveways, maintaining a neat and clean environment. The CSS will coordinate specific housekeeping needs with environmental services and/or maintenance.
