Department: Staffing Office
Shift: 8:00 am-5:00 pm Full Time 40 hours a week, 80 hours per pay period

The Staffing Office, with the System Staffing Manager at its helm, is the backbone of a well-functioning hospital system. It ensures that the right nurses are in the right place at the right time, a crucial factor in delivering exceptional patient care.

The System Staffing Office Manager is responsible for:

• Ensuring Smooth Operations in the Staffing Office located at Miami Valley Hospital.
• Lead the staffing coordinators and ensure the Staffing Office functions efficiently with the other hospitals in the system
• Staffing Analysis and Recommendations analyzes current staffing data and makes recommendations for improvement
• Reporting and Systems Management: This position manages reports, oversees the nurse scheduling software, and reports to the Staffing Office Director.
• Collaboration is Key: They collaborate with various departments to achieve common goals. They are team leaders, ensuring everyone works together effectively and utilizes resources wisely.
• The System Staffing Manager ensures that all hospital policies, regulations, and professional standards are followed.
• The System Staffing Manager ensures a safe environment for patients and staff.
• The System Staffing Manager works with the staffing coordinators, crucial to the staffing office. The staffing coordinators collaborate closely with nursing managers to ensure the correct number of nurses is assigned to each unit to provide safe and effective patient care. They also foster smooth communication between the Staffing Office and nursing units.
• The Staffing Manager understands the hospital relies on data, and the staffing office is responsible for a comprehensive database that includes Historical Staffing Levels. This helps them understand past trends and predict future needs. Current Unit Schedules: They ensure each unit has the appropriate staffing based on patient acuity (level of care needed); nurse Details: They have information about each nurse's qualifications and experience to optimize scheduling and Patient Acuity Levels: Understanding how much care each patient needs is crucial for determining appropriate staffing levels.

Education:

• A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business.

Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role is required
• Some experience in a leadership position is helpful, ideally for at least two years in a business setting.
• Prior experience directly managing staffing/scheduling databases and supervising others is a plus.
