Route And Recycling Yard Assistant

Miami Valley Metal Recycling is seeking a dependable and skilled Route and Recycling Assist Manager to oversee and execute logistics routes and material handling processes. The primary responsibilities include driving a box truck to complete scheduled logistics routes and utilizing heavy machinery (skid steer and excavator equipment) to load and unload containers with scrap materials. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient transportation and handling of materials in a safe and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a box truck to complete daily scheduled logistics routes, ensuring on-time delivery and pickups of materials.
• Utilize skid steer and excavator equipment to efficiently load containers of scrap material and managing area.
• Inspect, maintain, and safely operate all assigned vehicles and machinery in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
• Coordinate with customers, clients, and internal teams to ensure accurate and efficient logistics operations.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of routes, pickups, and deliveries.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any issues or required maintenance.
• Uphold safety protocols at all times, ensuring a hazard-free work environment.
• Support the management team with operational planning and scheduling when needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. CDL preferred but not required.
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers and excavators.
• Familiarity with material handling and machine operations in a recycling or similar industry is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency in all tasks performed.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and work in outdoor environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
